let tye speed of hamid be x kmph and that of joseph be y kmph
then according to 1st statement sum total of the distance covered by both is 30km and time taken is 20 min. so distance covered by hamid in 20 min = x/3 km and that by joseph will be y/3 km
now x/3 + y/3 =30km
from second statement
in 3 hours joseph covers 3y distance and hamid covered 3x distance so hamid coverd 30 more km then joseph so according to question 3x - 3y =30
from here
x - y =10
x = 10+ y
put this in before equation
(10+y)/3 + y/3 =30
10 + 2y = 90
2y = 80
y = 40 kmph = speed of joseph
x = 50kmph = speed of hamid
hope it helps.
