Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Step-by-step explanation:

i) In ∆ ADB,

<ADB = 90°,

and DA = 12 cm, DB = 16 cm,

/* By Pythagoras theorem :

AB² = DA² + DB²

= 12² + 16²

= 144 + 256

=400

=> AB = √400 = √20² = 20 cm,

ii) In ∆ADB , Base (DA) = 12 cm,

Height (DB) = 16 cm

/* By Heron's formula:

Area of Triangle ADB=1/2bh

=1/2*12*16

=6*16

=96

iii ) In ∆ABC , BC = a = 48 cm ,

AC = b = 52 cm,

AB = c = 13 cm

s=a+b+c/3

=48+52+20 = 120/3=40

3

s-a = 40 - 48 =-8,

s-b = 40 - 52 = -12 ,

s-c = 40 - 13 = 27,

Area of triangle ABC=

==320

Area of the shaded region= Triangle abc - adb

=320-48 =>272

Hope its helpful
