Step-by-step explanation:

let the point on line where curved line crosses is C

AC + CB = 18 ---- A

perimeter of a semicircle = 2pi×r/2 =pi×r

AC is diameter of smaller semicircle

smaller semicircle perimeter = pi×AC/2

CB is diameter of bigger semicircle

bigger semicircle perimeter = pi × CB /2

length of curved line = perimeter of smaller + perimeter of bigger semicircle

= pi/2×AC + pi/2×BC

= pi/2(AC + BC)

substitute A

= pi/2×18 =9×pi = 9×22/7=198/7 = 28.29 cm

length of curved line = 28.29cm
