paarth232: first of all will burn both a magnesium ribbon and the sulphur

then we will mix the oxides with water

then we will do litmus test on both the solutions

then we will observe that

sulphur oxide in water will turn blue litmus red and magnesium oxide will turn red litmus blue.

this shows that metal oxides are basic and non metal oxides are acidic in nature.
