Answer this question plz. Ice packed in sawdust does not melt quickly. Why?

icepacked in sawdust doesn't melt quickly because the sawdust act as a cushion.it doesn't allow the air to hit the ice and also doesn't let the warmth of ice get out

this is because the sawdust acts as an insulator and does not pass the surroundings heat to ice and thus prevents it from melting. this is the reason why ice is kept in sawdust, or it will melt
