Dude, mark me brainliest

let the oxidation number of the atom be 'x'

a) Ca (loses 2 electrons, so, +2)

+2 + 2(+1+x-6) = 0 (over all charge of the compound is zero, and I've multiplied by 2, since there are two entities of HCO₃)

+2 + 2 + 2x - 12 = 0

2x = +8

x= +4

b) sodium loses 1 electron, 2 sodium atoms lose 2 electrons

    Oxygen gains 2 electrons, 4 oxygen atoms gain 8 electrons

    +2 + x - 8 = 0

      x = +6
