We can easily get a : b : c if b is same in both the a : b and b : c . But in the question, one value of b is 5 and other is 7.

To make b same in both the fractions, taking Lowest common factor of both the values of b ( 5 and 7 ) , LCM = 35

Hence, we can write a : b = ( 4*7 ) : ( 5*7 )

                                a : b = 28 : 35

And b : c can be written as = ( 7*5 ) : ( 8*5 )

                              b : c = 35 : 40

Now, as b is same in all the fractions,

a : b : c = 28 : 35 : 40

a:b=4:5

b:c=7:8

Here, b =5&7

Taking LCM of 5&7=35

a/b=4*7/5*7=28/35

b/c=7*5/8*5=35/40

Hence,

a:b:c=28:35:40
