let breadth is b
length is b+9
original area is b(b+9)
now increase length and breadth by 3
then
new area is
( (b+3)(b+12))-(b^2+9b)=84
b^2+12b+3b+36-b^2-9b=84
6b=84-36
6b=48
b=8
therefore breadth is 8cm
length is 17cm
