given:-

1) area of rectangular park is 400m²

2) perimeter of rectangular park is 80m

hence,

area of rectangle = L * B

400 = L * B

L = 400/B .......(1)

perimeter of rectangle = 2(L+B)

80 = 2(L+B) ...... (a)

80 /2 = L + B

40 = L + B

L = 40 - B ......... (2)

B = 40 - L .......(3)

from (1) and (2)

400/B = 40-B

(40 - B ) * B = 400

40B - B² = 400

B - B² = 400/40 = 10

from (3)

40 - L - B² = 10

- L - B² = 10 - 40 = - 30

- (L + B²) = - 30

L + B*B = 30

L + B = 30/B .......(4)

put (4) in (a)

80 = 2 ( 30/B)

80 = 60/ B

B = 80/60 = 8/6 = 4/3 = 1.999

400 = L * 1.9

L = 400/ 1.9
