For the given equation to be 1, either the power must be zero, or the base must be 1.

Case 1 :

Base is 1

x^2 - 7x + 11 = 1

x^2 - 7x + 10 = 0

x = 5 or 2

Case 2 :

Power is 0

x^2 - 13x + 42 = 0

x = 7 or 6

Therefore the real values of x are 2,5,6 and 7, to solve the equation.
