Mahmud Gawan served the state most faithfully and enlarged the kingdom to an extent never achieved before. He conquered Kanchi or Kanjeevaram during the course of campaign against Vijayanagar. He fought successful wars against rulers of Konkan, Sangameshwara, Orissa and Vijayanagar.
Taj ud-Din Firuz Shah was the ruler of the Bahmani Sultanate from 24 November 1397 to 1 October 1422. Firuz shah is considered as an important ruler of the Bahamani Sultanate. He expanded his kingdom and even succeeded in conquering the raichur doab from vijaynagar kingdoms.
