Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

i) P(y) = y²-y+1

ii) P(x) = x³

To find :-

Find the values of P(0),P(1) and P(2) for the following polynomials ?

Solution :-

i) Given Polynomial P(y) = y²-y+1 ---------(1)

Put y = 0 in the equation (1) then

=> P(0) = (0)²-(0)+1

=> P(0) = 0-0+1

=> P(0) = 1

The value of P(0) = 1

Put y = 1 in the equation (1) then

=>P(1) = (1)²-(1)+1

=> P(1) = 1-1+1

=> P(1) = 2-1

=> P(1) = 1

The value of P(1) = 1

Put y = 2 in the equation (1) then

=> P(2) = (2)²-2+1

=>P(2) = 4-2+1

=>P(2) = 5-2

=> P(2) = 3

The value of P(2) = 3

ii) Given Polynomial P(x) = x³ ---------(2)

Put x = 0 in the equation (2) then

=> P(0) = (0)³

=> P(0) = 0

The value of P(0) = 0

Put x = 1 in the equation (2) then

=>P(1) = (1)³

=> P(1) = 1

The value of P(1) = 1

Put x = 2 in the equation (2) then

=> P(2) = (2)³

=>P(2) = 2×2×2

=> P(2) = 8

The value of P(2) = 8

Answer :-

I)

P(0) = 1

P(1) = 1

P(2) = 3

(ii)

P(0) = 0

P(1) = 1

P(2) = 8
