the heating effect of current depends on following three factors:

1. the amount of current passing through the wire.
__=It's directly proportional to square of the current I.

2. the resistance of the wire.
__= It's directly proportional to resistance R of the conductor

3. the time for which the current is passed through the wire.
__= It's directly proportional to the time "t" for which the current is passed.

When current is supplied through a conductor it produces heat due to the resistance offered by it. The heat produced is given as :

H = I^2 R t

or, H = V^2/R t


Hence, Factors on which heat effect of a conductor depend are as follows :

1. The resistance R of the conductor

2. The time t for which the connection is closed

3. The current I which is flowing through the circuit.

4. The voltage V or the potential difference across the conductor
