A die is thrown .the probability of getting a no. less than 4 is

when a die is thrown.. possible out comes are 1,2,3,4,5&6 i.e 6 in no. and favourable outcomes are 1,2&3only i.e. 3 in no. cz it should be less than 4. hence P(E)=3/6=½

There are 6 possible outcomes (1,2,3,4,5,6) that you could get from a 6 sided die.
Of these(1,2,3) are less than 4 I.e. there are 3 outcomes that satisfy the requirement out of 6.
Thus, the probability of getting a number less than 4 is 3/6 = 1/2
