let mine age be 5x

in 6 yrs,

son's age = x+6

mine's age = 5x+6

=> 5x+6 = 3(x+6)

=> 5x -3x = 18-6

=> 2x = 12

x= 6 yrs

mine age = 5x6 = 30 yrs

New age , son = 6+6 = 12 yrs

mine age = 30+6 = 36 yrs
