Our stomach contains gastric glands which secretes Hydrochloric acid (HCl) and many enzymes. The Hydrochloric acid is acidic in nature and acts on the food.
When we don't have food, the gastric gland in our body secretes Hydrochloric acid. But as there is no food due to not consuming food, the Hydrochloric acid acts on the wall of the stomach and ruptures it.This leads to acidity of the stomach.
