Question :

In the given figure , if AD = 7√3 m

then find the value of BC.

Answer :

Given : AD = 7√3 m

Let BD = x and DC = y

In ΔABD

Tan30° = AD/BD

BD=  \frac{AD}{ \tan(30) }

BD = AD cot 30°

x = 7√3× √3

x = 21 m

now, In ΔADC

Tan60° = AD/DC

DC = AD /tan60°

DC = AD cot 60°

DC = 7 m

y = 7 m

BC = BD +DC

BC = x+y

BC = (21+7) m

BC = 28 m
