let the three consecutive numbers be X , X + 2 , X + 4

Given sum of three consecutive odd numbers =51

=> X + X + 2 + X + 4 = 51

=> 3X + 6 = 51 => 3X = 45 => X = 15

Answer:

11) GIVEN:

sum of the three consecutive odd numbers = 51

RTP:

find the numbers

SOLUTION:

let the three consecutive numbers = x , x+2 , x+4

=> x + x + 2 + x + 4 = 51

=> 3x + 6 = 51

=> 3x = 51 - 6

=> x = 45/3

=> x = 15

therefore the three consecutive odd numbers

x = 15

x + 2 = 15 + 2 = 17

x + 4 = 15 + 4 = 19

12) GIVEN:

total cost of the prizes = Rs2700

total no: of the prizes = 63

cost of each prize = Rs100 , Rs25

RTP:

no: of prizes of each cost

SOLUTION:

let the prize of cost Rs100 = x

let the prize of cost Rs50 = y

x + y = 63---------------(1)

cost of x prizes which each cost Rs100 = 100x

cost of y prizes which each cost Rs25 = 25y

100x + 25y = 2700-----------------(2)

sub eq 1 and 2

1 [ +100x + 25y = 2700 ]

25[ +x + y = 63 ]

_____________________

+ 100x + 25y = 2700

+ 25x + 25y = 1575

75x + 0 = 1125

x = 1125/75

_______

x = 15

_______

sub x value in eq 1

x + y = 63

15 + y = 63

y = 63 - 15

_______

y = 48

_______

therefore the no: of prizes of Rs100 = x = 15

no : of prizes of Rs25 = y = 48

i think this is the answer.............I hope this helps u
