I am not sure if you meant a non living or a living thing.............
A COLOURFUL MACAW
All those animals out there just hoping that they could be a little more colourful, see a world a little more colourfully, I see them pining away for something they can't have and I can't help but wonder if they did get colourful vision, would they like what they see? I am a colourful macaw. As I fly in the sky, the beautiful radiant colours of my feathers contrast with that of the grey sky. I can't help but wonder as the world loses its colours, will I lose mine too?
Like any regular bird, I live in a tree. I wake up at the cracks of dawn everyday just with the hope of seeing a ochre sun rise, filling the world with its beautiful warm orange sunshine. But everyday I get my heart broken again and again. Three years of my existence on this earth and I still haven't seen a sunrise the way my parents described to me. I go to the tiny, slowly disappearing pond near my abode to have drink of water and maybe a bath. Carefully dodging the humans waste and debris, I find a spot of clear water, finish my business and continue in my daily routine, flying around town, frowning at the intriguing skyscrapers around. Finding a worm or two, here and there, what could I do? Soil was sight for sore eyes, eathworms even more so.
Everyday, I go around that same town but everyday it feels like a bit of its colour is lost. Everyday the world becomes more of a kaleidoscope of greys. How I feel living I this world? I feel scared, petrified even. I would feel safer in a bird sanctuary than out in the actual wild. At least that way I live with people who care. At least that way I wouldn't fear losing my colours.

I'm sorry if this essay is a bit dark and gloomy but its the best I can do at the moment!
I really hope this helps you : )
