Given AP :   24, 23 1/4, 22 1/2, 21 3/4,..........3

From the AP we get

 a = 24                                                   (first term)

 d = 23 1/4 - 24  = - 3/4                          (d = a₂ - a₁)

It is also given that,

  aₓ = 3

We need to find x - the term that gives 3 in this AP

So, By using formula

       aₓ = a + (x-1)d

        3 = 24 + (x-1)(- 3/4)

 3 - 24 = (x-1)(-3/4)

   x - 1 = -21 ÷ (-3/4)

   x - 1 = -21/-3 × 4

   x - 1 = 7 × 4

        x = 28 + 1

        x = 29th term.

So, required term = 29

☺ Hope this Helps ☺
