The solution is in the attachment. TO find relative velocity just stop one of the vehicle or whatever it is and if both of them are going in same direction then subtract them and if they are going in opposite direction add them. Just as in the question you asked when they were going in same direction their velocities were subtracted  and when they were moving in opposite direction their velocities were added . In simple language jiske respect me pucha h use rooko aur dusre wale ki velocity ko ulta karke respect wale ko dedo.
