Answer :-

a) Length of broken part = 13 m

b) Height of full tree = 18 m

c) Length of hypotenuse = 13 m

d) Perimeter of formed triangle = 30 m

Explanation :-

( refer to the attachment )

a) From the figure, it is clear that the broken part is length AC.

As it is right angle triangle, applying Pythagoras theorem -

\sf (AB)^2 + (BC)^2 = (AC)^2

\sf 5^2 + 12^2 = AC^2

\sf 25 + 144 = AC^2

\sf AC^2 = 169

\sf AC = 13

Length of broken part = 13 m

b) The height of full tree will be equal to the broken part added to remaining part i.e. AC + AB

Therefore, height of tree = 5 + 13 = 18

Height of full tree = 18 m

c) We know that,

\sf P^2 + B^2 = H^2

For the following figure :-

\sf 5^2 + 12^2 = H^2

\sf 25 + 144 = H^2

\sf H^2 = 169

\sf H = 13

Length of hypotenuse = 13 m

d) Perimeter = Sum of all sides

= 5 + 12 + 13

= 30 m

Perimeter of formed triangle = 30 m
