Hola.............

Answer 1 a

The term weather means the state of the atmosphere at a particular place at a particular time it includes information on whether elements such as temperature air pressure wind humidity cloud cover and rainfall usually get information about the weather from weather report and forecast published in newspaper or broadcast over radio and television weather forecast are particularly helpful as they want a skin advanced about approaching is storm and rain this enables us to take precautions .

The climate of a place is the average weather of a place in other words climate is the regular pattern of weather condition at a place over a period of time.

Then anwer of 1 b

Instruments used to measure the following are as follows

1. Pressure - Barometer

2. Sunshine - sunshine recorders

3. Wind speed - anemometer

4. Rainfall - rain gauge

Answer of 1 c 1

generally the rain falling over and area does not get collected by chance it receives into the soil flows into water bodies or evaporates the amount of rainfall at a place over a particular period is measured with the help of rain gauge. Rain gauge consists of cylinder fitted with a collecting vessel at the bottom and final at the top rain falls into the funnel and get collected in the vessel below at the end of the day of the period of time for which the rainfall is being measured the rain water collected in the vessel is poured into a measuring jar to find out the amount of rainfall.

Anwer of 1 c 2

Answer given above.

Answer of 2 a

A plateau which is also known as high plane or table land is an area consisting of relatively flat terrain.

Answer 2 b

Two types of plateaus are as follows

Dissected plateaus

Volcanic plateaus

Answer of 2 c

Formation of dissected plateaus

A dissected plateaus forms as a result of upward movement in the earth crust the uplift is caused by slow collision of tectonic plates.

Formation of volcanic plateaus

A volcanic plateau is formed by numerous small volcanic eruptions that slowly build up overtime forming a plateau from the resulting Lava flow.

Answer 2 d

the three ways in which plateaus are very much important to human life are as follows.

1. plateaus are store houses of minerals are very much rich in white varieties of mineral.

2. the Lava plateaus which are formed due to the flow of Lava contains black soil which is good for the cultivation of cotton.

3. Plateaus of many beautiful places are a spots which attract tourists .

I hope my answer will help u .

1.(a) Differentiate in four ways between weather and climate.

Differences are given below:

  • Weather:- It refers to short - run atmospheric conditions that exist for a given time in a specific area.

  • Climate :- It is the aggregate of day to day weather conditions over a long period of time.

  • Weather:- It refers to a particular place

  • Climate:- It refers to a large area.

  • Weather:- It may change at a very short interval of time.

  • Climate:- It remains more or less unchanged year after year.

  • Weather:- It is influenced by any one of its predominant elements i.e temperature, humidity, etc.

  • Climate:- It is the collective effect of all it's elements

1.(b) Name the instruments used in measuring the following weather elements:

  • Pressure:- Barometer
  • Sunshine:- Campbell-Stokes sunshine recorders or modern sunshine sensors.
  • Rainfall:- Rain gauge.
  • Wind Speed:- Anemometers

1.(c) With the aid of a diagram, describe the instruments used to measure rainfall.

Diagram is attached above. Rainfall is measured by Rain gauge.

1.(d) Explain how rainfall is measured and recorded.

Rain gauge collects the rain into a graduated and calibrated cylinder. The measuring cylinder can record up to 25mm of precipitation. One millimetre of measured precipitation is the equivalent to one litre of rainfall per metre square.

2.(a) What is a Plateau?

It is an extensive and relatively flat upland. Some are formed structurally, from resistant and horizontal rocks ,or from outpouring of plateau lavas as in the Deccan plateau of India.

2.(b) List two types of plateau

Two types of plateau are:-

  • Dissected plateaus

  • Volcanic plateaus.

2.(c) Describe the formation of the two types of Plateau

Dissected Plateau:- This plateau is formed by the upward movement in the Earths crust.

Volcanic Plateau :- This plateau is formed by numerous small volcanic eruptions that slowly build up over time, forming a plateau from the resulting lava that comes out from volcano.

3.(c) Highlight three ways in which plateau are of importance to man.

Importance of plateaus are listed below:-

  • Plateaus are storehouse of Minerals. They have a rich deposit of minerals.

  • African plateaus are huge resource of gold and silver.

  • Chota Nagpur Plateau is famous for coal iron and manganese deposits.

  • Plateaus are suitable for the cultivation of cotton.
