if two forces are F1 and F2 then.. their resultant should be between (F1 + F2)[maximum resultant force] and (F1 - F2) [ minimum resultant force] ... So.. 7N is between (6+2) and (6-2) ... the only pair in the options... So, the answer is (A) 2N,6N

if F₁ and F₂ are two forces and Fr be the resultant then

Max Resultant = F₁ + F₂

Min Resultant = F₁ - F₂

let us check the options:

A) Max Resultant = F₁ + F₂ = 2 + 6 = 8

Min Resultant = F₁ - F₂ = 6 - 2 = 4

The possible resultant range is from 4 to 8

B) Max Resultant = F₁ + F₂ = 3 + 11 = 14

Min Resultant = F₁ - F₂ = 11 - 3 = 8

The possible resultant range is from 8 to 14

C )Max Resultant = F₁ + F₂ = 3 + 3 = 6

Min Resultant = F₁ - F₂ = 3 - 3 = 0

The possible resultant range is from 0 to 6

D) Max Resultant = F₁ + F₂ = 4 + 2 = 6

Min Resultant = F₁ - F₂ = 4 - 2 = 2

The possible resultant range is from 2 to 6

the question is which forces produce a resultant of 7

clearly from the above ranges the 7 newton force can only be possible by the forces 2 and 6

so the answer is Option A
