Answer:

Largest 3 digit number which is a perfect square:

The largest 3 digit number is 999

When we are finding that 999 is a perfect square or not using long division method and we will get the remainder as 38

When we subtract 38 from 999 that's our answer

=>999-38 => 961

(See attachment for long division)

Without adding find the sum :

1+3+5+7+9+11+13+15+17

=> These elements are in A.P with a = 1 and common difference (d) = 2

=> sn = (n/2)[2a + (n-1)d]

=>There are 9 terms

=> s9 = (9/2)[2(1) + (9-1)2]

=>s9 = (9/2)[2 + 8 * 2]

=>s9 = (9/2)[2+16]

=>s9 => (9/2) * 18
