Roald Dahl, a famous author, has written this poem stating the defects of watching Television.

                The television is known as Idiot Box.

How does television control the activities of the children?

                It makes the children to get glued onto TV.  It makes them inactive.  They never play with other children thereby; no fighting or shouting will be there.  This idiot box helps the mothers to concentrate in finishing their household chores in peace.

How TV watching theoretically kills the children?

                Watching TV kills the creativity of the children, it makes them dull because of no play and it rots their thinking skills.  Watching TV affects their eyesight too.

What is the remedy given by the Author?

He asks the parents to inculcate the habit of reading good books in the children.  Reading helps the children to develop their imagination skills.  It makes them to act like the one they are reading thereby, the child will become active.  It helps them to think and get points for their debates.  According to the author, the TV is a foul, nauseating and unclean object which requires to be thrown away.
