TITLE: A FRIEND IN NEED IS A FRIEND INDEED.
ONCE UPON A TIME, THERE WAS A DOVE WHO LIVED ON A TREE NEAR A RIVER. ONE DAY THE DOVE SAW AN ANT DROWNING IN THE RIVER, TRYING HARD TO SAVE HERSELF FROM THE STRONG CURRENTS OF WATER. THE DOVE WITH A QUICK-BRAIN MADE A PLAN; IT PLUCKED A LEAF AND THREW IT TOWARDS THE DROWNING ANT. THE ANT CLIMBED ONTO THE LEAF AND FLOATED TO THE SHORE OF THE RIVER. THE LIFE OF THE ANT WAS SAVED BY THE HELPFUL AND KIND GESTURE OF THE DOVE. THE ANT CRIED OUT TO THE DOVE, “THANK YOU,OH DOVE! I PROMISE TO RETURN THIS FAVOUR OF YOURS.”
SOME DAYS LATER, A HUNTER AIMED AT THE DOVE AND TRIED TO SHOOT IT. THE ANT, WHOM THE DOVE SAVED DAYS AGO, WAS ON THE VERY SAME PLACE. JUST AT THE RIGHT MOMENT, THE ANT BIT THE HUNTER’S LEG AND THE HUNTER MISSED HIS AIM. THE DOVE WAS VERY GRATEFUL TO THE ANT AND THANKED IT. THE ANT SAID, “AS THEY SAY, WHAT YOU DO TO OTHERS WILL COME AROUND TO YOU.” THE DOVE FLEW AWAY HAPPY AND SAFE AND THE ANT FELT VERY GOOD AFTER RETURNING THE FAVOUR TO THE VERY KIND DOVE.
