Antibiotics are those medicines which are made with the help of certain micro-organisms, to kill the other micro-organisms which spread diseases.

Production of antibiotics by microorganisms has been in practice since long and now-a-days, a lot of antibiotics are produced by bacteria and fungi.

Two fungus which helps in the production of antivirus are Penicillium notatum which gives Penicillin and Cephalosporium acremonium, which helps in the manufacturing of a medicine called Cephalosporin.
