⇒ Given :-

  • Anu bought {\sf1{\frac{1}{2}}} kg onions,

  • {\sf1{\frac{1}{4}}} kg potatoes,

  • {\sf{\frac{3}{4}}} kg of tomatoes,

  • She already had 2 kg of sugar in her bag.

⇒ To Find :-

  • What is the total weight of her bag now?

⇒ Solution :-

  • Onions bought by Anu = {\sf1{\frac{1}{2}}}~{\sf{\ kg}}

  • Potatoes bought by her = {\sf1{\frac{1}{4}}}~{\sf{\ kg}}

  • Tomatoes bought by her = {\sf{\frac{3}{4}}}~{\sf{\ kg}}}

  • Sugar in her bag = {\sf{\ 2~kg}}}

  • ∴ Total weight of her bag = \sf (1\dfrac{1}{2}+ 1\dfrac{1}{4}+\dfrac{3}{4} +2)~kg

                                                   = \sf (\dfrac{3}{2}+ \dfrac{5}{4}+\dfrac{3}{4} +2)~kg

                                                   =  \sf \dfrac{(6+5+3+8)}{4} kg

                                                   = \sf{\frac{22}{4}  \sf{\ kg}}}

                                                   = \sf{\frac{11}{2}  \sf{\ kg}}}

                                                   = \sf{\underline{5~\frac{1}{2}~\sf{\ kg}}}
