Total marks scored by anu = -12
correctly attempted questions = 4
marks alloted for correctly attempted questions for anu = 4×5 = 20
marks alloted for incorrect answers = -2
let the no of incorrect answers attempted by anu be x
then marks alloted for incorrect answers = -2x
=> -2x+ 20 = -12
=> -2x = -32 => x = 16
∴ No of incorrect answers attempted by anu = 16
