Step-by-step explanation:

let the sym of money be x

ajun ' s interest ;

S.I = p×r×t /100

= x × 8 × 2 / 100

= 16x /100

rajesh's interest ;

A = p×(1+r/100)^2

= x × (1+8/100)^2

= x×(108/100)^2. ( i added it by taking out the lcm)

= x×(27/25)^2. i simplified it

= 729x/625

ci = 729x/625 - x

= 729 x - 625 x / 625

= 104x/625

acc. to the question

104x/625 - 16 x / 100 = 64

=> (104x × 4 ) - ( 16x × 25 ) / 2500= 64

=> 416x - 400x/2500=64

=> 16x /2500 = 64

=> x = 64 × 2500 / 16

=> x = 10,000

ans. Therefore the amount was 10,000
