Answer:

Se is 4 km far from the starting point and she is at west to the starting point .

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Anusha walks 5 km towards north. Then she takes a right and walks 8 km. Then she walks 5 km towards south and finally walks 12 km towards west.

To Find:  How far and in which direction is she from the starting point

Solution:

Refer the attached figure .

Anusha walks 5 km towards north i.e.AB = 5 km

She takes a right and walks 8 km i.e. BC = 8 km

She walks 5 km towards south i.e. CD = 5 km

She walks 12 km towards west now i.e. DE = 12 m

Now DE=EA+AD

Referring the figure

So, 12= EA+8

4 km = EA

So, she is 4 km far from the starting point and she is at west to the starting point .
