Answer: The total cost of plowing the semicircular land is Rs. 39424

Given: Anwarbibi has spent Rs. 2664 at the rate of Rs. 18.50 per meter.

Rate of plowing the land = Rs. 32/m^{2}

To find:  Total cost of plowing the semicircular land

Step-by-step explanation:

Anwarbibi has spent Rs. 2664 at the rate of Rs. 18.50 per meter

∴ The perimeter of the semicircle = \frac{Total cost of fencing}{Rate of fencing per meter}

= \frac{2664}{18.50} = 144 m

Since, the perimeter of semicircle is given by \pi r + 2r

r(\pi   + 2) = 144

r(\frac{22}{7}    + 2) = 144

⇒      r(\frac{22 + 14}{7}) = 144

r(\frac{36}{7}) = 144

On multiplying both sides by \frac{7}{36} , we get

r = \frac{7}{36} × 144

r = 28

Let us now calculate the area of the semicircular land.

Area of the semicircular land = \frac{\pi r^{2}}{2}

Putting r = 28, we get

Area of land =  \frac{22}{7}×(28)^{2}×\frac{1}{2}

= \frac{22}{7}×28×28×\frac{1}{2}

= 1232 m^{2}

Since the cost of plowing the land is Rs. 32/m^{2}

The total cost = 1232 × 32 = Rs. 39424
