Having legs or no legs has nothing to do with it. Reptiles are cold blooded animals, have scales on their body (instead of hair or fur) and are usually egg laying. (certain viper types and boas give birth to live young). So that is what makes animals reptiles. Having or not having legs has got nothing to do with it. Being carnivorous could be another qualification, as all snakes without exception are, but there are some vegetarians among the other reptiles as well, tortoises and the green iguana are herbivores.
