Kundakulam is presently the single largest nuclear power producing plant in India.
It is located in Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu.
People have been staging protests against it because of its ill effects.
Few reasons for calling to shut it down are:
To meet the growing needs of energy, government has proposed this nuclear power project. The investors are just looking at the power that will be produced but not about the immense pollution it releases.
It will have an adverse effect on our environment.
For it's construction, many people will have to be displaced. Many people will lose their livelihood.
