1. The transmission of signals is not a continuous process. The nervous system becomes unable to transmit signals immediately after it has transmitted one signal.

2. The nervous system also does not connect with every part of the body.

The two limitations are:

1. The impulses reach only those cells that are connected by nervous tissue and not each and every cell in the animal body.

2. Once an electrical impulse is generated in a cell and transmitted, the cell will take some time to reset its mechanisms. before it can generate and transmit electrical impulses
