There are three stages of the disaster risk management which are collectively called Disaster Management Cycle. Broadly, there are six phases in Disaster Management Cycle viz. Prevention, Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, Recovery and Reconstruction.

Pre disaster management is the precautions taken to save people from natural calamities ans reduce loss of life and property loss.

This pre disaster management includes four steps. they are

Preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery.

In preparedness phase people are given counselling about disasters and made the prepared to face situations

mitigation phase is the use of efforts to reduce the impact of disasters.
