a) The four types of information given by an equation are as follows :


(i)   Physical state of reactants and products.


(ii)  Conditions such as temperature, pressure and heat.


(iii) Catalyst involved.


(iv) Change in the state.


(b) Total mass of the elements present in the reactants of a chemical reaction has to be equal to the total mass of elements present in the products.
