First we need to calculate the value of 'r' for substituting in the above formula.

⇒ πr² = 176

⇒ r² = 176/π  [ Assuming π = 22/7 ]

⇒ r² = 176 × 7/22

⇒ r² = 56

⇒ r = √56 = 2√14

Hence value of 'r' is 2√14 .

Substituting in the CSA formula we get,

⇒ 2 × 22/7 × 2√14 × 30

⇒ 2 × 22/7 × 7.48 × 30

⇒ 1320/7 × 7.48

⇒ 1410.5 cm

Hence the curved surface area of the given cylinder is 1410.5 cm².
