All goods imported to India are subject to customs duty issued by the federal government.   Custom duties in India fall into the two main categories - Basic customs duty and Additional customs duty, special customs duty, anti-dumping duty and safeguard duty.   The rates of these duties are decided in every annual budget presented in the parliament.
