any library the number of books increased by 9% over the previous year of the book number of Buxar now is 62 130 how many books were in the previous year

Greetings..!

Let the number of books previous year be 100x.

Increase percentage yearly = 9% = 9% of 100x

(9/100)*100x = 9x

Hence, increased no of books next year = 100x + 9x = 109x

So,this should be equal to the no of books given in question,as :

⇒109x = 62130

⇒x = 62130/109  {transposing 109 to RHS and thus changing action(multiply         into division}

= 570

Hence, no of books = 100 × x = 100×570=57000

Answer : Hence, no of books in previous year = 57000
