Find the volume of a wall that is build with 2200 bricks if the dimension of each brick is 10cm 5cm and 2cm.
The capacity of a tank is 24000 litres .If the area of the base of the tank is 8m^2, find its depth.
How many bricks each measuring 28cm long, 12.5 cm wide and 9cm thick will be required to build a wall 16 metres long, 3.5 metres high and 45 cm thick ?

Hey there !!
This Question is taken from Class 10th Maths NCERT
Question -
⟶Three metallic solid cubes whose edges are 3vcm , 4cm , 5 cm are melted and formed into a single cube , find the edge of cube so formed ,
solution ⟹
let the length of new cube formed be x cm
then the volume of the new cube = sum of the volumes of three metallic cubes
⟹ x³= 3 ³+ 4.³ + 5 ³
⟹ x³= 27 + 64 + 125
⟹ x³ = 216
⟹ x = 6 cm
Questions 2⟶
Two cubes each of 10cm edge are joined end to end , Find TSA of the resulting cuboid
solution ⟹
If two cubes are joined end to end , we get a cuboid such that -
l = length of the resulting cuboid = 10 + 10 = 20 cm
b = 10cm
h = 10cm
TSA of the cuboid = 2 ( lb + bh + hl )
⟹ 2 ( 20 × 10 + 10 × 10 + 20 × 10 ) cm²
⟹ 1000 cm²
Question - 3 ⟹
three cubes whose edges measure 3 cm 4 cm and 5 cm respectively to form a single cube find its is also find the surface area of the new cube
solution ⟹
let X be the age of the new cube then
volume of the new cube is = to sum of the new volumes of 3 Cube
⟹ x ³ = 3³ + 4³ + 5³ = 27 + 64 + 125
x ³ = 216 = 6 cm
surface area of the new cube = 6x² = 6 × 6² = 216 cm²
Questions -4
three cubes each of side 5 cm are joined end to end find the surface area of the resulting cuboid
Solution -
let l be the length b be the breadth and h be the height of the cuboid
then given that -
l = 15 cm , b = 5 cm , h , = 5 cm
SA of the cuboid = 2 ( 15 × 5 + 5 ×5 + 15×5 ) cm ²
= 2 ( 75 + 25 + 75 ) cm²
= 350 cm²
Question - 5
the dimensions of metallic cuboid are 100 cm by 80 CM by 64 cm It is melted and recast into a cube find the surface area of the cube
solution -
did the length of each edge of recasted cube be a cm
volume of the metallic cuboid = 100 × 80 × 64 = 512000 cm³
so , Volume of cube = Volume of cuboid
=> a³ = 512× 1000
=> a ³= 512× 1000
=> a ³. = [8 × 10]³
=> a = 80 cm
SA of the cube = 6 a²
= 6( 80)² = 38400 cm²
