Appendix is the organ which is useless in human body but , fully functional and crucial in ruminants .

Appendix in humans is found at the left end of our large intestine and is an important vestigial organ which shows a proof of evolution . In olden days appendix was probably present to save the good bacteria , helpful ones in the intestine .

Ruminants are the animals which can bring back the partially chewed food back to its mouth in the form of cud and chew it later . Cows and buffaloes are some examples of ruminants .

Ruminants have appendix to aid their digestion , as they eat grass or other green plants which contains cellulose , a hard substance to be digested .
