Answer:

When a sentence is written, it can either be written in active voice or passive voice.

Active voice is used when the subject performs the action stated by the verb. For example: Tom changed the flat tire.

Passive voice is used when the subject is acted upon by the verb. For example: The tire was changed by Tom.

Answer:

Here is your explanation Pratibhapatil9u :-

Explanation:

Active voice:

The active voice describes a sentence where the subject performs the action stated by the verb.

Passive Voice:

With passive voice, the subject is acted upon by the verb. It makes for a murky, roundabout sentence; you can be more straightforward with active voice.

That's all for the definition &

Now how to change from active to passive voice:

1) Make the object of the active sentence into the subject of the passive sentence.

2) Use the verb “to be” in the same tense as the main verb of the active sentence.

3) Use the past participle of the main verb of the active sentence.

For example:

Active Voice -

John painted the house last week.

Subject / verb / object

Passive Voice-

The house was painted last week.

Subject / verb

Active Voice-

Harry ate six shrimp at dinner.

Passive Voice-

At dinner, six shrimp were eaten by Harry.

Now how to change passive voice into active voice:-

To change an active-voice sentence to passive voice, consider carefully who or what is performing the action expressed in the verb, and then make that agent the object of a by the... phrase.

Make what is acted upon the subject of the sentence, and change the verb to a form of be + past participle.

For example:

Passive Voice-

The entire house was painted by Tom.

Active Voice-

Tom painted the entire house.

I have attached a few screenshots for better understanding of the change of voices.

I hope it helps @Pratibhapatil9u.

Thank you.
