..Shylock is a tragic character, but he represents more than  that to various audiences.  For Shakespeare's audience, Shylock would have been close to the Jewish stereotype found in many of the works of the Elizabethan era (and previous British writings)

No sorry but the Shylock is a villain because he want to take a revenge for what Antonio has done till now to him as he want to take a pound of flesh of Antonio if he did not retune the money soon as in real the Shylock may be a tragic figure but because of his mad Ness he is shown as a villain
