Finding a good script means two things.
Finding it on your own, that means how to write.Finding a already written script.
If you want an already written script on current topics, you have to find a writer and ask for a script that is on current topics.
But my solution is different. Find any epic or any famous play ( the more ancient it is, better it will be) and then place it in today's time. Contextualise it in recent times, with recent politics, with recent motivations and yet tell that story.
An example would be Shakespeare's tragedies. See an important thing about any epic or a classic play is their timelessness. They are universal and the human stories are relevant all the time. You have to just equate the age old customs and age old politics to the politics and culture of our times.
Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet - they are immortal and can be easily adapted due to their stories of love, power , madness and hatred because these things my friend never change
