When I opened my window, I saw something completely unexpected. Something I thought I would never see in this life. I saw my grandmother singing her heart out while my grandfather danced. They both were watering the plants in the garden. They looked like teenagers. My heart filled with immeasurable joy and warmth. My once sick grandfather twirled my laughing grandmother. All pain and sorrows of the world forgotten, they cracked jokes and laughed. Just when I felt that our family would fall apart after my parent's death, everything seemed to be getting better. I felt like a huge load had been lifted off my chest. My dad was my grandparent's only child and my mother the daughter they always wanted. I knew my parent's death had affected the old couple more than any of us. My grandfather suddenly picked up the hose and sprayed my grandmother with water. My grandmother made a funny face and threw a mug of water on him. My sister came up beside me and we both stood there for God knows how long, watching the old couple bicker over a flower as they both stood there drenched from head to toe. I never thought I would ever see them like this. "Quite a couple, aren't they?" I nodded my head, acknowledging my sister's words. The pain seemed much more bearable, now. I felt a newfound sense of strength. No matter what happened, I knew in my family, we would always be there for each other.
