The Pearl Fishery Coast is the large coastal area of southern India, extending right from the Coromandel Coast, the starting point being the city of Tuticorin to the city of Comorin. Tuticorin, a port city is also called as Thoothukudi in Tamil language, is otherwise referred to as 'Pearl City' due to the presence of large amounts of pearls in its area. Pearl fishing has made Comorin another famous pearl city.

While one of the most famous international pearl fishing country used to be Bahrain, within India, we have the 'Pearl Fishery Coast' in South India, with the cities of Tuticorin and Comorin being important pearl fishing hubs in the region.
