There are internal and external factors causing Urbanization. The city is out of land for accommodating people and building new CBD or stadium. Then the city will expand to grow bigger just like all the metropolitan area. But the demand stems from the economy. The economic success makes the city thrive and provide greater opportunities, which constantly attracts more and more people to live, work and enjoy there. Then the increasing population will in turn increase the demand of the city for service, eventually the land.

You can list all the factors human need for living as causes for urbanization. But most importantly, the human activity is in no doubt stimulated by the capital.
