Hi

Decomposers are organisms that break down and feed on dead and decaying organisms. When a plant or animal dies, its decaying body is broken down or decomposed by decomposers. The nutrients present in the dead body are returned to the soil by the action of decomposers. Two of the most important decomposers are bacteria and fungi.

Answer:

Decomposers: Decomposers are organisms which decomposes dead bodies of plants and animals.

Role of decomposers:

1) They help in recycling of dead organisms.

2) They provide nutrients to the plants.

Dead bodies of plants and animals are food of decomposers. When these decomposers feed on these organisms, their faeces are the food of plants.

For example, bacteria, fungi etc.
